Two hours after eating — reference ranges
The post-meal value that matters diagnostically: by two hours, glucose should be most of the way back down.
| Josla | mmol/L | mg/dL | Ko tas nozīmē |
|---|---|---|---|
| Normal | under 7.8 | under 140 | Two hours after a meal (or after the 75 g oral glucose tolerance test), a healthy response is back under 7.8 mmol/L. |
| Impaired glucose tolerance | 7.8-11.0 | 140-199 | "Prediabetes" by the two-hour criterion: the body clears the glucose, but slowly. |
| Diabetes | 11.1 or above | 200 or above | Two hours after a 75 g glucose load, 11.1 mmol/L or higher meets the WHO criterion for diabetes. |
Kā to lasīt kontekstā
The two-hour value is the one the oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) uses: a measured 75 g glucose drink, blood drawn at two hours. A home meter reading two hours after a normal meal is a rough cousin — useful for trends, but only the standardised test counts for diagnosis.
The two-hour number catches a different problem than the fasting number: it is the first thing to move when glucose clearance slows, which is why some people have a normal fasting value and a diabetic two-hour value at the same time.
Kad vērsties pie ārsta
- Two-hour values at or above 11.1 mmol/L — book a formal test.
- Repeatedly 7.8-11.0 after normal meals — the earlier it is caught, the more reversible it is.
Tikai uzziņai, nav diagnoze. Šajā lapā norādītās robežvērtības ir populācijas līmeņa WHO un ADA vērtības; jūsu ārsts interpretē jūsu paša skaitļus, ņemot vērā jūsu anamnēzi, medikamentus un citus izmeklējumus. Ja vērtībai pievienojas simptomi vai tā turpina kustēties nepareizajā virzienā, tas ir signāls rīkoties — nevis šī lapa.
